Intense garnet red in colour, with a complex bouquet of cherries, raspberries, red currants with roasted and spicy aromas. Full-bodied, well-balanced and complex layers of dark fruit, fine tannins and a long, lingering finish.
The Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon has an impenetrable black colour and is very fragrant with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, fresh tobacco and sweet pepper. The palate is concentrated with a fine structure showing abundant blackberry, cassis, and light toasty oak notes that combine to give a long persistent finish.
Intense red, with vibrant purple hues. The palate is rich and silky with generous fruit flavours balanced by hints of chocolate and plum. A fine tannin structure supports the flavour to create an elegant and smooth drinking wine.
Elegant, displaying cinnamon, spices and morello cherry with some toasted notes. The palate is exquisite and open with good complexity. The finish is long and delicious.
Château de Musset, located on the old town of Parsac, is of ancient origin as evidenced by a very beautiful vault topped with an elegant 18th century colonnade overlooking the vineyards and ‘pond. The domain was purchased in 1887 by Pierre and Musset and passed from generation to generation. Belonging to the family for over 150 years, this beautiful area is now owned by Mrs. Jean-Marie Gadenne. A family civil society operates the vineyard covering 7 hectares of sunny slopes ground clay and limestone. The cultivation and vinification are traditional there. The majority is planted with Merlot (70%) with the remainder planted with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Château de Musset remains a gathering place for the family. Many events offer the opportunity to receive and also to know the area.
Part of the story of this tremendous, historic producer is its gentle evolution into the modern era. This cracking Malbec comes from Benegas plantings at their own Finca La Encerrada vineyard in Gualtallary, Uco Valley, at 1,450 MASL. Floral and mineral aromatics typical of this area mingle with impressive black fruit concentration in a wine that is big and polished, yes, but ultimately fresh and very finely judged with just 6 months in second use French oak barrels. A lovely, big, decadent bottle of Malbec for sharing; or keeping for a few years.
1.5 litres
Deep, intense ruby red colour. Neat, fresh and attractive nose dominated by the fruit. The fruit is ripe with lots of plum, cherry, cassis and blackberry intermixed with spicy notes. The wine is medium body and well balanced, with ripe, refined, and smooth tannins. The oak is discreet and well integrated.
